A lot of people have asked me why I built the house mask. I have no good reason. But you know what? I think that’s perfectly fine. I think “it seemed like a good idea at the time” is a perfectly fine reason to do almost anything.
What happened was this: I was in the mood to make a cardboard mask, but I didn’t know what I wanted it to look like. So I just started building the base structure of the mask and decided I’d see what happened. Partway through, I thought “this kinda looks like a house.” So I turned it into one.
Later some of my friends invited me to a house show, and I thought “I know exactly how I want to show up to this.” And I did.
